We are Michelle and Sarah, a mother and daughter duo behind Arlows Closet in Bunbury, Western Australia. Our story goes back to 2019 when Arlows Closet existed only as a small idea in Sarahs' spare moments. At the time, I (Sarah) was sewing matching doll outfits at home, for my own daughter. Doing something for myself, creating pieces during nap times and late nights. What began as a creative outlet, something to do for myself slowly grew into something far bigger than I could ever imagine.
As more families discovered our matching dolly outfits, the little business kept taking shape. Sewing clothing turned from a love to a stressful "I need this done by this time" situation. Word of mouth started spreading & I outsourced to a manafcturer.
Online sales turned into a growing community, and before long Arlows Closet needed a real space of its own... I had outgrown my sewing room, garage, spare room & house!
That's when mum & I opened our very first shop, we both learned the ropes of retail, and poured everything we had into building a place families would love. Eventually, we outgrew that shop too, and moved into our current store which is so much bigger and filled with even more products. Today we proudly stock prams, car seats, cots, nursery furniture, pregnancy supplies, baby & kids clothing Plus toys gifts and so much more. It has become a true one stop baby shop.
I am a mum of three children. I have one girl and two boys who keep life very full and very fun. As a family we love the outdoors and spend weekends boating, camping and fishing whenever possible. That love for family is part of the heart behind Arlows Closet. We understand what it feels like to prepare for a new baby, to shop for growing little ones, and to want products that are safe, reliable and beautiful. Everything we choose for our store reflects these values. If I wouldn't give it to my own kids, I won't stock it for others.
A huge part of this journey includes my mum - Michelle. Mum worked for many years as a registered nurse before making a big decision to leave her career and help me bring our first store to life. What started as a temporary plan became a full blown partnership.
Mum has been here from day one of opening the doors at our first store and has never looked back. Together, we share the workload, the ideas, the problem solving and the ups & downs that comes with running a family business.
Arlows Closet has grown so much since the beginning, but the most important things remain the same. We care deeply about offering quality products, giving genuine support and creating a welcoming experience for every parent who walks through our doors or shops with us online. Whether you are preparing for your first baby or shopping for your growing family, we are here to help make the journey easier and a lot more special.
